Hey there, I’m Yasmin!

I’m the founder of Mindful Sleep, certified pediatric sleep consultant, and mom to two wild boys who sleep through the night in their room, every night. Once bedtime is done, I know I get a couple of hours to myself to unwind. I love waking up before the kids to enjoy my coffee (fresh, not microwaved for the 3rd time), while the house is quiet, and read. 

Before I became a sleep consultant I was a flight attendant and pediatric dental hygienist! Two amazing careers that have provided me with a wealth of knowledge for parents. I have you covered from sleep to traveling with kids to teething! I am also a big mental health advocate and am currently working on my Maternal Mental Health Certification.

I was also a sleep-deprived mom before starting my consulting journey. My second son would wake numerous times each night, and being a breastfed baby, we always resorted to nursing back to sleep. I was depleted. 

I spent countless hours trying to read sleep training books and Google ways to help my baby sleep, as I'm sure you have!

After 3.5 months of getting only 1-3 hours of broken-up sleep each night, my mental health was suffering. There's no "sleep when the baby sleeps" when you also have a 3.5-year-old at home and no additional support during the daytime! Postpartum depression and anxiety were creeping in. I opened up to a friend about it and she referred me to a sleep consultant she knew.

I'll admit, I had a bit of sticker shock and held off on calling her thinking we could work through this, that I could attempt to read another book about infant sleep, or maybe it’ll get better once we introduce solids. I finally reached my breaking point when I realized I was too afraid to drive with my boys in the car.

After 5 months of our household struggling with sleep, we finally made the choice to invest in some help.

We hired this sleep angel and our baby went from numerous hour-long wakings every night and 20-minute catnaps to sleeping 7:30 pm - 7:00 am and taking two glorious naps every day! It literally changed my life. I began to feel human again and my boys were able to have the mom they needed.

I started telling everyone about the wonders she worked and couldn’t believe how many families were out there struggling like we were to get some good sleep! It has always been a passion of mine to help and teach, so I made the easy choice to begin a new career helping bring sleep back to family’s homes as a certified pediatric sleep consultant!

Sleep deprivation is real, and if you are going through it, you know it is one of the hardest parts of parenthood. You want sleep, and your child wants sleep!
